Re: Lenovo Y540 crackling sound

That’s strange, I guess they will release it for all in a few days, how does it behave temps wise?

Re: Lenovo Y540 crackling sound

I am a radio amateur and often listen to weak signals from satellites via connected USB2 SDR receivers.
It gives me double problems. Partly crackling from audio and drop out from slow USB sped. Attaches audio file.
About 19 seconds from startup, I open a background application that draws about 30% extra load from the processor.

I have a 6 year old Lenovo Yoga pro 2 laptop that works well with my USB2 SDR receivers but which is otherwise pretty dull.

Re: Lenovo Y540 crackling sound

The BIOS folder contained only 28WW. When looking at Lenovo Vantage, 29WW is displayed. See attached picture.

Re: Lenovo Y540 crackling sound

That is weird. Go in BIOS by pressing F2 at startup to see true BIOS version

Re: Lenovo Y540 crackling sound

OK, use afterburner to see in game temperatures, press fn+Q to see if fans reach Max speeds. Coz with 27 n 28 version Max fans are not happening. Try game like apex legends
