Re: Lenovo Y700 - 15ISK failed to update Windows 10 KB4041994

Hi Krakken.

On Microsoft page says: This article does not apply to Windows 8 or later, but I decided to try anyway.

So I try to install  Microsoft .NET Framework Repair Tool to repair the versions of the .NET Framework and the I reinstall:

  • The .NET Framework 4 (this one it says that my system already have this version pre-installed and I have a higger version intalled)
  • The .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 (This one doesn't open, just nothing happen when I try to install it)
  • The .NET Framework 3.0 SP2 (This one says: None of the products targeted by this software update is installed on this computer, and I can't install it)
  • The .NET Framework 2.0 SP2 (This one says: None of the products targeted by this software update is installed on this computer, and I can't install it)

Then I decided to use the .NET Framework Cleanup Tool to uninstall multiple versions of the .NET Framework, I did everything right, and then when I try to install the framework versions I was able to install the The .NET Framework 1.1 and The .NET Framework 1.1 Service Pack 1 (SP1), but once again I couldn't install The .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 . I restart the computer and the problem on Windows Update is the same, I still can't install it.

Hmm... in that case I`m not quite sure what could be the trouble.

Have a look on this troubleshooting page:

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/10164/fix-windows-update-errors

Maybe this could be of some help.

Otherwise, you may want to get in touch with Microsoft support, they may be able to offer more help with the issue.

Hope this helps, let us know how you get on.

Re: Lenovo Y700 - 15ISK failed to update Windows 10 KB4041994

I have spent far too many hours with Microsoft trying to solve this issue. They have remotley accessed our Lenovo Yoga 2 11 and made many registry changes, without success. Finally, they told me it's an issue with Lenovo, and that a patch needs to come from you. That sounds highly unlikely. But, I'm just repeating what I was told by a MS tech. The end result is my wife's laptop annoyingly reboots in the middle of her work, and in the end doesn't even update. It's an endless and frustrating cycle. Please help!
