Hi guys, I'm at my wits end with my WiFi constantly getting slow speeds and disconnects randomly.
My Y700 is on Windows 10 Home Single Language, Version 1803 , OS Build 17134.286
So a little backstory: Got this laptop in Malaysia and never had WiFi problems at home.
I'm currently in the UK for uni and am dealing with some weird stuff.
Day 1 & 2 : Works fine , no disconnects but subpar speed. Could still game with no worries.
Day 3: The WiFi out of the blue loses connection and when i troubleshoot it, it either says : Default Gateway Not Available most of the time or Problem with Wireless Adapter or access point. It fixes itself but happens again after awhile. Also, the signal bar fluctuates from 1-4 bars.
Weird thing is I had no problems with the WiFi with my mobile phone and am pretty sure its the laptop.
Did Speedtests on both my laptop and phone and these were the results:
Laptop : 0.2 mbps download , 2 mbps upload
Phone : 20 mbps download and 3 mbps upload
So i spent the day looking for solutions and similar issues online and tried these fixes: Reinstalling the network adapter driver
Updating the network adapter driver and also trying the previous version
Trying different network adapters drivers ( Some worked for a good 30 mins before the problem arose again)
Changing the power saving to have maximum performance
Disabling the driver function that turns it off to save power
To no avail, Would love some help on the issue. Many Thanks.
