Lenovo Y720 Legion laptop upgrade

Hi All,

I just bought Lenovo Legion Y720 with only SSD 256 GB,

currently i'm thinking to upgrade the HDD with Seagate BarraCuda 2.5 inch 2TB (7mm) does it compatible with the Lenovo Legion Laptop ?

 

Please do advise :)

Hi there. Just took a look at your pictures. 

 

You're correct, the SSD is currently occupying the M.2 slot... the 2.5" slot seems to be empty. 


The hard drive you referred to will work in that empty 2.5" SATA slot. You'll want to use it as a storage drive, and keep the M.2 SSD in there since that will be your boot drive.

Y720 has 2 slots for drives:

m.2 NVMe and regular 2.5" SATA.

I do not know if your current SSD occupies the 2.5" bay or the m.2 slot though.
