Exact same issue, just started today and it seems several others have started threads as well. Called lenovo support and they told me to factory reset. Seems that is always the answer to them.... Hopefully this gets sorted.

Even if I hit sleep right away on start up it does the same thing. I have already tried deleting the nvidia adapter and it didnt fix the issue. I guess I am just glad that i am not the only one so hopefully this issue will get fixed promptly. Very frustrating to have to shut down every time i close the laptop to prevent having to force shutoff. Thanks anyway!

Did not have the same update. Only update I had over night was this.

Solved it friends. Rolled back my intel graphics driver. No issues anymore.
Steps to roll back your driver.
