Re:New BIOS- Legion 5 15ARH05 82B500ATSC

How to flash back to a previous BIOS version:

BIOS Back Flash
- Completely shut down the device.
- Press the Novo Button :  It is the small reset hole on most devices that you need a unfolded paperclip to reach.
- If you're device does not have a Novo Button, then pressing F1 or F2 repeatedly on startup will take you into the BIOS.
- In the "Configuration" Tab, set "BIOS Back Flash" to "Enabled"
- Click the "Exit" Tab and click "Save Exiting Changes" or Press "F10"
- PC will Restart and enter the Windows Environment.
- Head over to the Support Page for your device.
- Under Drivers & Software, Manual Update, then BIOS section, you can find the latest BIOS version.
- Expand the BIOS driver with the down arrow. Right Click the download icon, then select "Copy Link Address"
- Paste it into the URL section of the browser
- Change the nr of the bios version  (ex: 8HCN36WW  to 8HCN35WW or 8HCN34WW) and hit enter.
- Do this in the URL input section of the browser until you find the previous BIOS version to download.
- Right click the file and select "Run as Administrator"
**Note: You can also attach the file to a USB flash drive, boot from USB through BIOS and then run it that way.
**Note: Make sure the AC adapter is connected and that you have at least 30% battery charge when performing this update.

Hope this helps

Regards

Voithos

Hello Voithos!

Do you have any ideea how to recover in an possible event from a catastrophic corrupted bips (reflash  not starting bios).

Is some method to reflash bricked bios for 15ARH05 Legion 5 laptop? Like hold FN+R simultaneously with press power button for 15sec that works on other models.

Which file from bios.exe should have on usb in such case.

It will be helpfull if we have a complete method here, just to know about.

Thanks!

I also have  Legion 5 15ARH05  and BIOS version was updated from Windows Update to EUCN29WW (''Lenovo Ltd. - Firmware - 1.29.0.0'') , due to the issues of resetting ''battery conversation mode'' and FN lock, i flash back  successfully to EUCN28WW but after system restart BIOS is automatically  update to version EUCN29WW. I disable automatic updates and delete Windows Update downloaded files but this thing keeps happening again. Is there any way to stop automatic Bios update ?

This has fixed it for now. It's a shame that the previous one couldn't get these things right though. Battery conservation and management is a big deal to many users. Having to manually manage the battery is tiresome - the Vantage battery conservation setting is highly effective in maintaining a good battery. I won't be updating my BIOS again, unless I can see that it isn't causing issues. My function lock also does not reset itself any more.

I didn't know the BIOS can update itself (!)  I hope someone answers your query.

Dear APOTL. The restore process is a sensitive process. Probably when you entered the bios environment you forgot to click "Save Exiting Changes" so  the system restore the bios to the latest version. This is most likely, because many have restored the previous bios. If it is important to restore the previous bios do it carefully. If after all this the bios returns then it is something else but I consider it unlikely. Usually the solutions are simple.

Use this application to hide any selected Windows update including driver / firmware. You don't need to disable Windows Update Service, Other Updates will still be downloaded except any selected updates from this app. It's official from Microsoft

I'm using it to hide AMD GPU Driver and Lenovo Firmware 29
