READ ME + REWARD

2020-04-08, 14:28 PM

Just answer me if you have this folder called ''Drivers'' in your (D:) drive because I accidentally deleted it and it's supposed to be there. Reward is 10€ PaySafeCard. I have Legion Y730!

Windows OS nor Lenovo doesn't create ANY system folders/files on partition/drive D which is for users data.

Drivers folder can be found on the root of drive c:

You can try and restore your missing folder from your full image backup or using a portable app like Recuva :

Drivers folder can be found on either C: or D: partitions--whether you have one or two storage devices connected to your PC. (From personal experience with Lenovo.)You can always download drivers from Lenovo website. This might be inconvenient, but not impossible, if you want old drivers-- exact versions as in the Drivers folder. If that's what you want, I hope someone can upload those for you.

I had folder called Drivers on (D:) and it was already in laptop when I started him for the first time. If you have Legion Y730 I'd be happy if you would copy and send me that folder.

"Drivers folder can be found on either C: or D: partitions--whether you have one or two storage devices connected to your PC."

Never.

Windows nor Lenovo or any other OEM have no access to partition/drive D and never write to D.

Putting anything by a OEM on drive D is a crime.

Note the location, Date Created and Date Modified

Note the Warranty Start Date; Day of purchase.

Unless I have a time-machine, Lenovo placed the Drivers folder in the D: Drive.

"Never" was inaccurate. Maybe there are some laws, rules, guidelines that should be applied... maybe. But, that wasn't the case here now, was it?

I'll be happy to report this crime though; don't know who I gotta report it to though.

Hi sandrajmcgray

I've already downloaded 2 of those kinds and the folder was missing there. No help by those apps.

When you lunch a driver installer from Lenovo, it will normally create a folder containing that driver in C:\Drivers.     For instance, if you download and launch the Realtek Audio Driver installer for the Legion Y730 (filename mdly04af08r3.exe), the second screen of the installer displays the folder path that it will unpack the driver files to by default (e.g. C:\DRIVERS\Audio), but that path can be changed to D:\DRIVERS\Audio or any drive or folder you desire.

On some systems there is a hidden partition on the System Drive that contains drivers and software used for recovery that has confused some posters in this thread, but you should not mess with those hidden partitions.

Cheers,
