Re: Reducing fans noise on Lenovo Legion laptops

I updated the BIOS to 4GCN38WW and ran some tests.

Below are hexadecimal values of fans speed registers (0x06/0xFE) and the corresponding RPM values:

0x13/0x10 - 1900/1600 RPM (when CPU temp is <35° C),
0x16/0x14 - 2200/2000 RPM (when CPU temp is >42° C),
0x18/0x16 - 2400/2200 RPM (when CPU temp is >55° C),
0x1D/0x1F - 2900/3100 RPM (when CPU temp is >65° C),
0x2D/0x2C - 4500/4400 RPM (when extreme cooling enabled).

Unfortunately, I see no difference compared to previous BIOS versions.

Re: Reducing fans noise on Lenovo Legion laptops

I know that the last reply is too much before but while I was searching for that thread in forum,I've found this thread. The last BIOS update has not worked at all (38WW ending).I've been suffering the same issue for a really long time.Hasn't a solution been found yet ?

No, unfortunately LENOVO seems to have a blind eye for this thread or anything related to this issue. Most of us just got tired of waiting for updates that would grant us more freedom with fan settings. Honestly I don't know what they are working on since the keyboard backlight problem is still not fixed.
