Turning on Plugins in ICUE resets hardware lighting. (Lenovo legion 7 16achg6)

2021-05-08, 23:01 PM

I have noticed an annoying issue with icue and was hoping it could get fixed.

Whenever you enable plugins or startup ICUE, it resets the hardware lighting mode, this can be really frustrating for people who do not want to see a RGB lightmode explosion when starting up their laptop.

It would help us if starting up ICUE does not reset the hardware lighting mode.

Repro steps:

1. Disable ICUE and set a different hardware lighting mode.

2. Start up ICUE.

3. Disable plugins in the ICUE settings.

Im not talking about the LED being stuck, im talking about the hardware lighting mode resetting back to rainbow wave everytime you enable plugins.

If you set the hardware lighting mode via FN + spacebar to blue or red and then enable plugins and disable it again in the ICUE software, it switched back to rainbow wave.

Hello @rickje149,

Sorry for the late reply.

I see my mistake there. Have you perhaps tried to update the iCue app or possibly even a reinstall?

Regards,

Yes i have tried re-installing the ICUE software and it still exists.

This issue is happening for other people aswell.

Whenever the legion 7 plugin from ICUE version 3 loads it resets the hardware lighting mode.
