Hey All. New to the forum and hoping someone has some similar experience to share!
Just got my new Legion Y530 in the mail and I'm planning on installing a 970 evo and doing a fresh Win 10 Pro install so that I don't have problems w Nvidia's newest driver installation- I got an error when trying to update due to the version of Windows Lenovo has pre-installed on the Y530. I've read that Lenovo prefers u use their drivers etc..
Anyone done this and are their any issues with hardware etc.. after install? I do plan on putting the lenovo utilities mgmt software back on the ssd. Thx in advance!

I bought Y530 about a month ago and upgraded to PCIe SSD and did a fresh installation, everything is running fine all except my read speed is capped at 2000MB/s which is supposed to be at 3000MB/s. Apart from it NVIDIA drivers is working perfectly fine without problem. Hopefully your's will not encounter the same problem as me, cause till now there is no one can answer me why.

I think you'll have issues with Windows PRO because most of the drivers from Lenovo are meant for Windows Home edition.
You can give it a go, but in past I've found that not all softwares are compatible with different windows versions and may not function as expected.

My upgrade and install went great although I opted to stay with 10 Home to avoid any issues. Luckily also didn't have any boot issues either. Will test read/write and post clocks. Cheers

Sounds good. Yeah usually there are no problems if you know the basic steps.

I did fresh installed myY530 (on 970 evo 500Gb) with Win 10 1809 and upgraded to Win 10 education without any problems. After windows installation, update all drivers via Windows Update. Update nvidia via nvidia experience and intel 630 via intel driver & assistant support. Install lenovo utility and vantage from microsoft store. All lastest driver is working perfectly.

I tested read/write and got 3313 MB/s and 2409 MB/s respectively. All driver updates have been done and my y530 is running brilliantly. Thx to all those that offered advice. Cheers
