Re: Y520 Random freezing when plugged. Low battery notification.

Hey

try to reinstall everything from scratch!

My y520 works like a charme for a long time ago. What I did:

1. Install last BIOS

  • using AHCI not the RST in Bios ( someone say it´s faster but im using AHCI for more than 1 year and i dont get battery notifications.
  • use UEFI Mode

2.

  • reinstall Windows  ( if finish wait half an hour until windows install all what they want)
  • update your graphic drivers
  • I dont use any Lenovo driver from Lenovo site.  (make sure you have installed the last chip driver)
  • install Lenovo vantage
  • search for drivers and install it
  • it can be that you get a dolby audio DAX2 problems. Search for an old driver in this forum. Someone upload one via google drive. y520 audio DAX 2 problems

Thats all for me! No Battery notifications for a long time now.

Maybe that helps.

I'm sorry to be ignorant, but I'm having the same issue and I'm unsure what you mean with the following items: "using AHCI not the RST in Bios" "use UEFI Mode 2"
