Had this laptop for a while now, and been using it for school for the last month or so. My issue is, that i only get 1.5 hours of battery life with an undervolted cpu and gpu, aswell as minimum brightness while also keeping open programs to a minimum. I see people claim that they had up to 5 hours of battery life, how can that be?
Thanks for the help in advance!

Don't have the Y530.
I would investigate which background services where running.
For instance if you have dropbox installed and it's syncing a lot this can really drain the battery.
I upgraded my dropbox to get the smart sync. feature this helps a lot.

Others have tried disabling discrete graphics to save battery power but if this is not an option for you then perhaps best to check if there are other processes in task manager like on this post.
If you still have the same issue even with updated BIOS then I would suggest to try calling in technical support and inform them of the problem.
I hope this helps answer your query.
Update us how it goes.

If you open lenovo vantage, there should be something called hybrid mode, when you enable it and restart your system should use the integrated GPU for light tasks and you discrete GPU for games/heavier tasks, I assume that's what you've enabled ?
I do think lenovo doesn't enable this out of the box for performance purposes as you lose a tiny bit of performane when you enable hybrid mode.

turn off unnecessary programs running in the background. this is one of the usual culprits in laptops. But in reality you won't get that mileage with gaming laptops these days, believe me.
That 4 hours is on a parameter Lenovo has set but usually isn't realistic in practice.
Also add the usual degradation of lithium batteries due to heat, and other factors like the fluctuations in usage of the laptop it's rare that you'll reach 4 hours
