Y530 Blue Screen of Death with NMI_HARDWARE_FAILURE error

Hi all,

Since the first launch of the device and through the first steps of win 10 installation, system crashes with NMI_HARDWARE_FALIURE and loop with the same error every time.

I struggled to install the windows, Now after 10 seconds of starting the system crashes again.
I tried resetting the windows and reinstall it but still with the same error.


Has anyone faced the same problem and what are the procedures for such incident ?

Could you try to perform the steps below and check if this will fix the issue?

 

1. Disconnect newly connected hardware
This error can be caused by newly installed hardware such as a sound card, graphics card and hard disk. Remove or replace it. Then restart your computer to see if it works.

 

2. Update all device drivers
Incompatible and obsolete device drivers (especially display drivers) generally cause different blue screen errors and can lead to this nmi BSOD hardware error. To correct NMI hardware errors, first update the drivers from the device manager or you can visit our support website to download and install the latest drivers or you can run and install all the available updates using the Lenovo Vantage application that you can download here https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/lenovo-vantage/9wzdncrfj4mv#activetab=pivot:overviewtab. Then reboot your PC. You shouldn’t see that blue screen of death again.

Hi Marky_Lenovo,

 

Thank you very much for your help.

Apparently the problem here is in the graphics card, mine is Gtx-1060 and when I managed to disable it from device manager, no crash happens ever and when enabling it again the crash happens within 10-20 seconds. I have literally installed every driver update from Nvidea, Lenovo vantage, geforece experience. Nothing works.

The problem is very weird to pay over 1000$ for a gaming laptop specifically with gtx-1060 and have a problem with it since the first launch of the device.

Please if any help with the graphics card or this situation will be grateful, as I'm so annoyed and desperate

same problem bro in my Lenovo legion y540 and Lenovo is not helping me and i think there is no solution , I think it is a mistake to buy this laptop

That's very weird on a brand new machine.

 

What BIOS is it running and have you tried updating the BIOS to the latest?
