Y530 wake from sleep by itself

2019-11-20, 9:36 AM

Hi,

I have disabled the hibernation on my Lenovo Y530 and I use the classic sleep function all the time.

Recently I noticed that it wakes from sleep by itself without touching it or moving the mouse (I turn off the wireless mouse anyways).

It seems that something triggers the wake function but I don't know what.

The laptop is not connected to any ethernet cable in order to wake from this.

Any thoughts on this problem?

Hi geork!

Check the properties of the Wireless card on your computer if the option "Wake from magic packet" is enabled.

Go to Device Manager > Right click on your wireless card and choose Properties. Go to Advance Tab and check if the Wake on magic packet is available. If not, check it under Power Management under the wireless card properties.

Hope this helps your query.

Regards,

Yes, it was enabled. I disabled it and will report back as soon as possible.

Hi,

the setting you suggested didn't work. At first it seemed that it made a difference but after a couple days it started again.

I think it has something to do with windows updates. Like the windows updates trigger the wake from sleep. Is it possible?

Or maybe some BIOS setting?

I found the solution. It was the wake timers enabled.

Power Options->Sleep->allow Wake timers->disable.

Problem solved..
