Y700-17ISK - Vertical blue line on screen

Hello everyone, I have bought a Y700 Lenovo notebook one month ago.
Yesterday one blue vertical line appeared out of nowhere on my screen as you can see in the image attached.
I have tried to reinstall both my graphic card drivers ( intel and nvidia) and the problem still there.
I noticed that the line even show up in the notebook`s setup which lead me to wonder that is not a problem regards to software but hardware instead.
Anyone can help me please ?

Hi thiagombzrr,

 

Welcome to the Community Forums. 

 

If the same like appears on the BIOS but not on an external monitor, then LCD assembly may be having the issue.

Update us after checking.

You could try connecting it to an external monitory, but I am 99.999% sure it will not be present on the external monitor since it is present well before Windows loads.

 

It could be a bad video card, a defective cable between the screen and the laptop body, or most lilkely a defective LCD screen itself, so in any case, with it being such a new computer, I would open a warranty claim with Lenovo and get it repaired.

Hi spidey, yes it seems to be the LCD screen the problem. I connected the notebook to a external monitor which display everything without any problem.

How can I contact Lenovo to help me replace my screen in my country which is Brazil ? Any thoughts ?

Yes JDGillis, you are right. I connected my notebook to external monitor and everything got displayed without problems on it.
I will figure out some way to contact Lenovo in my country, Brazil to claim the warranty.

Yeah, it I have never seen that problem before that was not related to a hardware issue on the laptop itself, but unfortunately In cannot find any warranty centers in Brazil, which is odd since Brazil is such a great country.     I do see a service center in Argentina, but I cannot imagine you would have to send you laptop access international lines for a warranty repair, but perhaps Spidey can provide more information.
