Y700 Keyboard freezing in Ubuntu, Need a BIOS update...

Y700-15ISK Ideapad

Serial Number: PF0KQ45B
Machine Type Model: 80NV00QTUS

I wiped all of the hard drives and have Ubuntu 18 installed. I'm having the funky keyboard problem where it freezes up while I'm using just the GPU.
A lot of the solutions say to update the BIOS. However, the BIOS updates are only for Windows machines.

1. Is there a way around the Windows requirement to update my BIOS?
2. If not, is there a way to get a Windows disk sent to me from Lenovo?

e.g.

lenovo **bleep**s on you if you dont use windows. THey will not send you a disk too. Your only solution is to install windows on your second harddrive (if you got one) or wipe ubuntu, install windows and then install bios then ubuntu again

You can download a Windows 10 ISO image from Microsoft free of charge, and then install and use it for up to 30 days without having to activate it (don't connect it to the internet!).  After 30 days, the Windows 10 installation will become unusable, but 30 days should be long enough for you to install the new BIOS.
