Y700 laptop screen not recognized by PC, only external screen working

Hi.

My Y700 laptop screen is not recognized by the PC, but an external screen working with the laptop.

For long time the laptop screen was working well, and every day I inserted the HDMI cable, folded down the laptop screen and used the external screen. No problem.

Then suddenly the screen on the laptop will not work at all, even if I restart the computer. When checking laptop says everything is ok and that the system can not find any oter screen.

 

Any ideas, anyone?

Hello @OlavOlav,

 

Welcome to the Community Forums.

 

I would suggest trying to press Windows key+P then checking if the display only goes to second screen. You could try setting it to duplicate.

Hi. Thank you for you answer. Already it was set to duplicate, but the second screen (the one on the laptop) was suddenly not recognized. Anyway, suddenly it all changed and now only the laptop screen works, and not the external. When checking with another monitor it all worked well on both screens and it seems that the external monitor I have is not working properly, so I will have to get a new. What caused the origninal problem is thus still a mystery.
