Y700 small electricity fuzzy feeling from aluminum cover

Hello,

I got a problem with my Y700 notebook,
When LAN cable is connected to the notebook and in another side connected to the router, and also AC adapter is unplugged from AC power Supply i'm feeling small electricity fuzzy when i touch the aluminum cover.

If its danger for my notebook?

What caused this problem?

Thanks.

Re: Y700 small electricity fuzzy feeling from aluminum cover

Hi Zeev ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Let's try to further isolate possible cause .

Would you have any static if unplugged from ac adapter and unplugged LAN cable ?

Just run it on battery alone.

Try to plug it to another wall outlet ( try it with and without power strip) .

Unplug from ac adapter and try it with just LAN cable and router . Any static?

Undamped statics should always be checked and is unnatural.

Same reason why most tech have grounding bracelet to damp such discharge during disassembly.

This may affect long term functionality of the chips and devices on your pc .

Take time to isolate it , making sure that no external device is causing it , and give tech support a call for a recommended checkup and repair as needed.
