Y700 speaker problem

2016-02-09, 22:46 PM

Hello,

I have Y700 for almost one month.

Yesterday left speaker start "clicking". After that I realised that my speakers working, but sound is very weird and silent.

I reinstall drivers, try old version of driver and it didn't help.

When I manualy turn off speaker in control panel speaker stop clicking.

Any ideas?

Does it produce a clicking through headphones? If not then it's the speaker itself, since you've already tried the drivers I'd say hardware fault. Explain to Lenovo via a service ticket and they will repair/replace.

There is no problem with headphones.

But I realised that when I hold my laptop on 45 degree angle or more my speakers works like normal...

Had a similar problem but mine had no sound at all..just some faint irregular clicks.... Discovered one of the stereo speakers was bridged (don't know how) but when I disconnected the bridged one, the other one started to work... Note; a multimeter will not help to determine the bridged one... Simply tap a 2v DC power to the speakers directly and see which of the cone moves... Whichever one does not move or makes a faint sound is the faulty one.. Disconnect the faulty one with a plier and see if ur sound is up... If yes then u need to replace the faulty speaker ..... Most Ti (Texas instrument) audio amps have speaker guard so if irregularities are detected the amp will simply not provide sound to the speaker.
