I just need help with my Y730 15inch model wifi card. I saw someone replace that as Intel AC 9560 on their Y530. So I thought that should work on my laptop too. I replaced with 8560 once. But I could not find that card in my driver manager. I mean somehow there should be a device logo with yellow thing there, right? (I did not install the software driver at that time.) Therefore, I come to ask if anyone has an idea what should I do first? I mean, should I install the driver before I replace it physically? Or, should I replace it first, install driver and reboot? I am still not 100% sure Intel AC9560 will work on this laptop. Also, I want to ask I do not need to reinstall windows when I replace the wifi card, right?

Most laptops have a whitelist of cards that can be installed, so while you laptop may support the AC 9560, it would have to be a Lenovo branded one to work, which for the Y730 is FRU P/N: 01AX768
Here is one that is compatible with your system.
Once you install the card into your system, you just need to install the driver below and it should be detected
Intel WLAN Driver for Windows 10 (64-bit) - Legion Y730-15ICH, Legion Y730-17ICH

Unfortunately they do not publish a whitelist per se for any of their systems, so I went to the partslist for that model via https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/partslookup and located the Wireless LAN cards that could have shipped with you Y730 from Lenovo, and one of those was the AC 9560 with FRU P/N: 01AX768. Using that card ensures that it will be recognized by the BIOS and Windows 10.

DO NOT follow this advice. I learned it the hard way.
The 01AX768 is not compatible.
I ordered and installed this model, and the laptop did not recognize it.
After running the Lenovo compatibility check, I see that this model number is NOT there (and therefore incompatible).
There are multiple compatible options, but I am ordering a non-RealTek model (01AX711) and will see how it works.
I'll update this thread once I've tried it.

I tried with 9560 ac non-RealTek model (01AX711) twice. They were not working on my laptop. I tried 9260ac. It works well. Mine is Y730-15 model. Hope this helps you. Just try 9260 ac.

For everyone who wants to switch their wifi card for their Y730-15. This may help you somehow. I have this laptop for 5 months. Everything was great but wifi. My laptop was not using intel wifi card. It was slow and unstable. Therefore, I want to change that as an intel one. I tried 9260AC twice. They both are non-RealTek model (01AX711). Then I tried 9260AC. It works great on my laptop. To help you more, my laptop is Y730-15 model 81HD. The bios I have is 8XCN32WWV2.01. You do not have to worry able driver. It works great even without driver install. But you can find the driver from intel web. Hope this help other people.
