Gta v says it's running off the ipgu... Saying only 1024v ram available. but I don't think it is from my fps and msi and open hardware monitor shows activity on the card. Similar loads to the pic I posted in the other thread.

Just something to add, the best way i found to remove the bottom of the laptop without damaging/scratching the unit is to pry open a corner that has a little gap and then insert a credit card. Apply light opening pressure and slide the credit card around the edges prying it open. Whenever you feel something behind the credit card, you've run into one of the clips. Push gently on the clip with the credit card until it gives. Don't force them.

Hey I'm about to remove this filter myself as I am just frustrated with the temps and throttling. Question looking at the laptop upside down with the sub facing you... Where would the plastic clips be? I heard they where along the upper part where the exhaust is locsted. I've opened many electronics so I'm very careful about pressure on something that's clearly stuck as to not break it. Just to be clear as well we can freely take the bottom off with our voiding the warranty? Also do you think the filter can be reattached the same way it's removed. I'll take pics of the filter when I do. Just wanted feed back before I proceed. Thx

Sure thing, take care and see if there is a way to remove the filter without compromising it. Who knows, maybe you can reattach it later.

The clips on the intel versions were all around the circumference. I couldnt get to the ones on the back, so i only removed the sides and front. Look at the clips after you gently pry the bottom up and see how they work. You can use this to remove the back by either pushing or pulling in the direction needed to free up the cips..

Hey everyone I literally just took it off in all of 5 mins. Clips are around the front and sides near the plastic side exhaust. With the sub facing you I used a credit card slowly looking for the clips and with a little carful effort came open no prob. The top speakers I wouldn't necessarily call clips but more guides or a key to hold it in place. It opened like in the service manual. I didn't like the feeling but it in cliped find just be careful with your pressure.

Not for the actual removal of the filter. You can't replace it at all unless you want to remove the plastic soldered frame that holds it. You'll need to re melt that to glue it back on. But everyone can do this before they decide to remove it or not. With the back cover off just lift it to your mouth and blow through. Mine you can absolutely feel massive resistance to air flow. Absolutely more than 50% blocked I would say mine was approximately a 70-75℅ blocking air flow. I just snaked it out and came out incredible ly easy and in one piece.

I'm doing test now so I'll update soon. With the filter out I placed but across my mouth again filly sealed and my cheeks expands from the pressure I need to blow air through so its clearly not allowing proper airel flow and now the bottom looks so much sleeker seeing the dual fans through the vent. Wish me luck with the benefits and I'll update with some info from results later tonight

Wooo nice one! Thank you for keeping us updated and giving us more tips!

It's unclear, did you manage to remove the filter in one piece? Could it be done with a hairdryer to heat it up?

Just after a quick test in the witcher standing idle I'm getting good fps around a solid 30 dips to ~27 on 1080 ... I'm going to play test it now but results are dramatic as inferno stated. From that one test around 10 mins standing idle temp did not go above 70c.

Note that cpu still throttles but when I saw my graph but in game standing still I didn't see any effect of that so well see after I actual give it a good play test.

As far as the filter it came out in one piece whole but again you cannot reinstall out due to the bracket it is held in by is plastic melted to the actual bottom tray of the laptop. I took pics which I'll post later but you can freely movev it around with a finger touch and I just used a flat head to lift a piece up and then was able to pull it out by hand slowly. It's super easy came out with 0 effort.

Any games you'd like me to test let me know I have most of the big titles and games with heavy graphics.

I'll test gta v next cause I know they really optimised that game good on the PC. Fallout 4 always goes from 60-20 on my desktop fx8350 r9 270x too so that's not a good example. I like the witcher 3 cause again they really did a good job promising that game. Mgs v should run like butter as well. I'm very excited I hope this really fixed the temps. Again I got 70c instead of 90c before in ewitcher.

ANOTHER SOLUTION IF YOU WANT TO REATTACH THE FILTER,REMOVE THE FILTER IN ONE PIECE CAREFULLY!!.

1. THEN SCRATCH THE FILTER WITH KEY OR SOMETHING NOT REALLY SHARP.         THERE YOU SEE THE BLACK COLOUR WILL BE REMOVED AND NOW AIR CAN         PASS THROUGH.

2. SECOND WAY TAKE A BLADE AND DONT FULLY CUT IN PIECES BUT CUT                 HORIZONTALLY IN 2-3 LINES SO ATLEAST AIR CAN PASS AND ALSO IT PREVENT

    DUST.

GUYS DONT FORGET ABOUT MY GTAV PROBLEM
