Regarding a Lenovo Legion Y7000.
The screen itself has gone to sleep but the Y logo is still lit up therefor am thinking the light isn't tied to the screen itself.
Is there a way to turn off or disable the big white led Y on the top of the screen lid?
Have tried using the Nerve Center, Nerve Sense and Vantage apps but haven't found an option for what I seek.
I don't mind it personally but will need to disable it during work meetings as am sure it will lead to complaints.
If not, sadly will have to return the laptop.
Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the Community Forums!
There are no controllers to turn off the Legion logo on the top cover of the LCD as per designed. Our apologies.

This is so silly that we can't turn the light off. It's a waste of battery..... Lenovo couldve actually use the backlight of the lcd panel itself to light up if it wanted to but some design genius opted for a light that can't be turned off to waste battery power and light up a dimmed room when you want the room to be dimmed....
shaking my head....

i upgraded mine to 32GB ram.... while at it, i was trying to see if i can remove the plastic panel around the lcd hinge to get to the lcd connectors to see if there is a separate power cable for the stupid Y light on the lid to permanently turn it off. but have no success so far trying to find a way to removve the plastic panel around the lcd hinge yet..... If anyone can point me in the direction, would appreciate it. Thanks.
Turning off that stupid Y lid light would be great for several reasons: not lighting up a dark room, save battery

I finally turned off the Y light on the lid..It's not very hard to do... just take your time and be careful
Carefully remove the bezel around the lcd..... Just carefully pry it of with your fingernail... start at top or side... comes off fairly easily and just work around...
Look at page 54 of the HMM to pull the two strips of adhesive that's holding the lcd to the lid. the lcd is fitted perfectly into the lid so you don't need that adhesive afterward anyway...
after you lift the lcd from the lid you will have access to the wire powering the led light for the Y.. Just cut it.. I was trying to trace the wire back hoping that it's a separate plug but it appears the led wire, camera wire and lcd wire eventually bundle together into one connector according to th HMM so there's no way to just unplug the led light only....
So now the stupid Y light is off... Good riddance.. less power wasted.... and not lighting up the dark room
