i got a problem with my keyboard-backlight: i´ve to activate it, every time i turn my y720 on.
the y50-70 i owned before saved the previous setting from last shutdown: ist started with backlight turned on.
is there an option anywhere to turn the backlight always-on?

Once you reach the windows login screen, doesn't your KB backlight turn ON automatically with previous settings?
If it doesn't then what do you do to turn it on?

nope, sadly it doesn´t turn on automaticly.
if i reboot windows 10 with activated backlight, it comes up with activated light.
if i shut down windows and tturn the y720 on again, the backlight isn´t activated any more. after complete windows-shutdown, then backlight switches on during uefi-boot and switches off after a second before the windows-logonscreen comes up. in windows itself, i´ve to switch the backlight on by pressing "fn"+"space".
i´ve got a y720-15IKB (80VR002XGE).

I'm sorry to hijack your thread, but could you help me? I can't even get the keyboard backlight to activate at all (FN + SPACE does nothing).
Did you have to activate a specific option or install a specific driver to enable it?
Any help would be truely welcome...
Good luck with your fix too! Cheers from France .

Can you please check if there is a program called IHC.exe added in the Startup Programs or in the Services list and is Active.
Another thing to check is, without turning on the KB light when you log on. Open Nerve Sense and check if the KB backlight settings feature is ON.
Not sure, but this could be a windows or CMOS issue as well. For windows,
Open CMD with admin privileges and run the following command -
Check if there are any errors.
Which antivirus do you have?
For CMOS, you may have to open the back of the laptop, so I am not sure if you are willing to do that in case above solutions dont work. Let me know. Thanks.

It is better if you created another thread as it will be easy to track and post a solution.
Each thread usually has its own solution.
As for your specific case, can you please check if there is a file called IHC in C: (Probably in one of the program file folders, just do a search).
OR there should be a folder called HIDKB.
I will recommend creating a new thread. Thanks.

Please create a new thread as this might get confusing for thread owner. Thank you.

in reply to your questions @rockykoston:
"ite hid control" C:\Program Files\HIDKB\IHC.exe (vers. 220.127.116.11) is active.
keyboard backlight settings feature is not available in the lenovo nerv sense. are these settings perhaps only available there, if the y720 has got an optional rgb-keyboard-backlight? mine has got only the red beacklight...
sfc.exe didn´t show any errors.
i´m using "avira antivir professional (vers. 18.104.22.168)"
if the garanty isn´t harmed, if i open the y720 i don´t have a problem with this.

Try this first, (not sure if you already did)
Switch off laptop
Disconnect power supply
Press power button for 45 seconds
Reconnect and restart.
