You have a capacitive touch screen. Usually the pens that work with these screens have a soft rubber tip or what looks like a smooth metal mesh tip. They mimic the use of a finger on the screen, but with a bit more fine control. Machines with active digitizers, on the other hand, work by completely different mechanics and offer very fine control.
In the end, whichever capacitive pen you choose will largely be based on your own personal preference for size, weight, etc
