Hello guys, I ordered this http://www.corsair.com/en/corsair-memory-8gb-1x8gb-ddr4-sodimm-2133mhz-c15-memory-kit-cmso8gx4m1a213...
and they seem identical to the original y700 ram, I have the i7, 8gb version, windows 10 home.
After installing and checking if the module is right in the slot, I still cant understand why its not working.
tried switching slots with the original one but, makes no difference.

Could you post a picture of your new memory and a picture of your old memory?
Also state your model number, ie 80NV005FUS?
The HMM shows no DDR4 8GB memories listed for your machine, but I see some models
in Lenovo US specs with 2 x8GB.
See page 78 of HMM:
Also post the youtube link you referenced.
Did you try the New memory, alone, in the bottom slot(0) and it failed?

If you provide the information requested,I can better assist you.
If you cannot take a picture of the memories, just type in all the info on the memory sticker.
I would not order any new memory at this time.

The ram that was in the laptop originally:
RAMAXEL TECHNOLOGY LTD.
CAS LATENCY 15
basically identical to the ram I bought, but now that I took the original ram out it looks a bit different and on the sticker it says 2400mhz, while cpuz/cmd/speccy was showing it at 2133mhz

Could you provide the part number? I need this to cross reference the memory. I also need your machine model number.
Your spec is:
16GB max / PC4-17000 2133MHz DDR4, non-parity, dual-channel capable,
two 260-pin SO-DIMM sockets
A picture of the memory would be most helpful.
