y530 sent in for repair

2019-06-25, 1:52 AM

I've sent my laptop in for repair.  BestBuy stated Lenovo might not fix it because I put an SSD in it.  The processor overheats to 200 degrees F. Is this accurate?

Thanks.

Hi wwe9112!

Welcome to the Lenovo forum discussion!

The Lenovo can still offer a repair service for the laptop, however, you need to install the old HDD on it and you need to contact the Lenovo Support at 1-877-453-6686. If the new SSD was the caused of the overheating, chances are, the warranty will not cover the service as this will fall under the failure or damage resulting from modification. For more information about the Lenovo Limited Warranty, you can check it here https://download.lenovo.com/pccbbs/thinkcentre_pdf/l505-0010-02_en_update.pdf?CID=ww:lenovosocial:20x9m6

Regards,
