Re: y540 heat and BIOS issues

Just downgraded to 26WW from 32WW.
Undervolting and overclocking the same like it was on 32WW.
Short playing the Witcher 3 - fps are similar so no performance increase "feeling", CPU temps also similar cause sometimes jumps over 80+ (mostly in  Oxenfurt and Novigrad) and a few times I reached thermal throttling (temp 92C) on few CPU cores and all package.
I have to test/play more to have more comparison.

Try to push 150mV on core undervolt, leave cache as it is. I didn't promise you any miracles as it just changes fan curve and some other things, there is very minor increase in fps. But in my case there noticeable difference in temperatures,

If further undervolting does not provide any help I will suggest further tweaks. If it is not good even then, you either have faulty unit or you need repasting (more likely).

Did you try to raise back of your laptop to about 2 cm?

lol that is a extreme step to tear the table to make place for vents, you only needed to place a hard object like eraser, book under rear last border bottom to create 1 inch of space. I am liking the fan curve of 32WW bios, the fans ramp up on 60c temperature and dont wait for 80-90c for maxing their speeds. Dont worry about crashing from undervolt, long press the power button will boot system again. Start from -125mV core/cache in throttlestop. I am using -140mV in throttlestop.

On 26WW it does it around 70 but it does not have sudden fan ramps newer Bioses have.
