That sounds normal, but do you realize PL in ThrottleStop and TDP are two different things, right?

Battlefield 5 temps before downvolting with Intel XTU were very high....around 90-95 degrees on cpu and throttling. After a -140mV, my FPS got better, less stutter and temps are between 80-85 degrees. For a cpu and gpu intensive game, those temps are very good. Y740 15 inch ....i7 9750h and RTX2060.

Since WW32 it seems GPU TDP goes up to 90W on Performance mode

I also decided to repaste my laptop. Changes were amazing, I almost gained 15°C which is a lot. So I do recommand repasting for people for whom undervolting and other soft modding didn't improve temp well enough. My factory pasting was a real mess...

PS : I used Noctua NT-H1

That's weird, but possible because temps were really bad in comparison to 26WW and 27WW. As far as I know max 1660ti can go is 80W if it could go up to 90W there would hardly be a reason for 2060 to exist, because difference is already minimal.

Between 1920(2060) CUDA cores and 1536(1660ti) CUDA cores there is a big difference and not to mention the RT capability of the RTX range...i would say that there is a biig reason for the 2060 to exist. If both were to be running at 90W the 2060 would win in all scenarios.

There is already like 5% more performance in 2060, my friend has the same machine but with 2060 so we could test it out. RTX capability? Don't be silly with ray tracing on on this card you are getting 30 or less fps so it's not really playable. If I wanted card for this particular I would not go any lower than 2070 (desktop one of course).
Don't forget that 1660ti can also run on much higher frequency, so does make it up a bit for those CUDA cores. Also 2060 tends to run hotter making whole package higher in temps.

All in all, there is good reason 1660ti is called best gang for buck card in mobile industry. Surely not worth 220€ I would pay for 2060 upgrade.

Re: y540 heat and BIOS issues

This is off topic, but for your information I am pushing around 50-65FPS in BF5 1080p RT on and all settings on Ultra if I remember correctly. With a gpu freq at around 1600-1750.

Anyhow...my cpu is going to 92 - 93....did anyone repaste an y740 with i7 9750h? It usually throttles to around 3700 MHz with a vcore -135mV. How much improvement did you see?
