Re: y700 pop /**bleep** noise

Hi there, V3                -

Thank you for writing in to the Lenovo Forum - happy to have you here today.

Seems there is a space between the electronics beneath the surface.  When tapping the surface there is a resonating or clicking sound produced.  Hard to describe but unlike any other touchpad I use.  Can this be normal with Synaptic?

May consult Lenovo Tech Support...

Update us how it goes.

Re: y700 pop / noise

I also got the same pop noise issue in my new bought Y700. I found it will happen when using the internal battery power. When it connected to the AC adaptor it will be fine.

I tried to update the latest Bios and the sound card driver, but it didn't help. It is really anoying!!

Anyone can give advice for this?

Go to Control Panel >> Hardware and Sound >> Mouse >> Choose Synaptics from the Upper tabs >> Settings >> Uncheck Tap to click.

Re: y700 pop / noise

I don't have synaptics, its the ELAN Driver. but I went and disabled the tap to click, I'll update if I hear it still.

Re: y700 pop / noise

I think I might have fixed it by uninstalling in the device manager, and having it search automatically for the driver. Whats funny to me is that the realtec audio driver from the lenovo page didn't fix it. There was another article that also helped, https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-P-Y-and-Z-series/lenovo-y700-cracking-speakers-sounds/m-p/348246...
