What are the conditions under which Lenovo will issue an RMA?

I am not satisfied with my recently purchased system and would like to return it for a refund.





If you have purchased directly from Lenovo, please check the return policy on the shopping site specific to your country.   The US Return and Refund info is outlined during the checkout process and available online here (quoted below).

In a nutshell, the customer is responsible for a product once it ships, whether or not they open the product.  In the event of Lenovo fault (either a material mis-representation of the product through incorrect specifications on the web, or if the customer called to cancel an order before it ships, or if the product is defective in the first 21 days) it may be returned and the restocking fees waived.  Otherwise, returns within 21 days are subject to a restocking fee.  Returns beyond 21 days may not be accepted.


If you have a defective product, please first contact technical support to do problem determination and ensure it is not something that can be addressed over the phone.  Obtain your service case number.  Service / Support will offer to repair the system, and since repairs can often be completed within 24-48 hours, it may be worth considering this option.  Understandably, some customers will not wish to have a new product repaired, and wish a refund or replacement.  If this is the case, then call sales back and request the return. The sales agent will request the service case number to ensure this is a valid claim.



Returns and refunds

Lenovo will accept the return or exchange of a Product in its original package for a full refund in cases of Lenovo error (*see gift card policy below). Returns allowed for any other reason will be subject to a restocking fee equal to 15% of the purchase amount (*see gift card policy below). All returns must be initiated within 21 days of the invoice date. Lenovo does not provide refunds or credits for portions of a packaged offering provided at a single price or for preloaded software Products installed by Lenovo. To initiate a return, contact 1-866-428-4465 to obtain an RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization). Any authorized return must include the Product and all accessories in the original packaging, along with all documentation (including invoice, RMA and original shipping label), and must be received at the Lenovo National Return Center within 10 days of obtaining the RMA. Returns that do not follow these steps may be refused by Lenovo, and customer assumes risk of loss and damage for packages returned without an RMA.

If you acquired a software Product separate from a hardware Product, and paid a license fee, you may return the software Product in its original, sealed package within 21 days of the date of invoice and obtain a refund or credit, if you do not agree to the license terms provided with the software Product.

*Gift Cards are not returnable, redeemable for cash, or replaceable if lost or stolen.
