Re: Buying a T510: Is it safe to navigate on Lenovo's website?

Re: Buying a T510: Is it safe to navigate on Lenovo's website?

At the time the issue was raised in this thread there was no Firefox 4... Somehow, the issue seems to have been resolved with the latest update version.  I have machines running Firefox 4 and the problem does not show up. I also have machines still running Firefox 3.6.16 and the issue remains.

Serge,

I'm sure Lenovo programmers are aware of the situation. But, gauging from what you wrote before, it seems they didn't give you any hint about it, I would say.  In fairness, I would suggest asking them if they do know about it and, if they do, are they still willing and ready to provide a solution or are we going to have to upgrade to FF 4, willing or not? This would not be the end of the world, of course, but there are people who still prefer to stick with FF 3.6, at least for the time being...

Thanks

LinYu

as an interim solution, please use the following site to check order status:  http://www.lenovoorders.com/

erik,

Thanks for the information. It does work, indeed. I just can't figure why this is meant to be an interim solution...

Cheers.

Re: Buying a T510: Is it safe to navigate on Lenovo's website?

lenovo currently is moving to a new website design so there will be some little problems that one have to deal with before they are fully 100%.

Re: Buying a T510: Is it safe to navigate on Lenovo's website?

lenovoorders.com has always worked.   i only say it's an interim solution since i don't know how much longer it will take to clear the certificate issue on directlenovo.com.   "interim" is my word choice, not lenovo's.   it can be a permanent solution if you choose to use it 100% of the time. Sounds like a problem with the way Firefox 3 handles cert authorities.

May be... It's unfortunate though that it only applies to the www.directlenovo.com/orderstatus certificate... Smiley Wink

Anyway, from what lead_org says, this may be only a passing problem. And if all else fails, we have the "interim" link provided by erik...
