Re: FedEx refused to accept Lenovo shippping label and charged extra

From what i read it sounds like the DC in cord you have is bad. Now one issue i see is that the machine is showing a WED of 2010-06-24, now since the machine was sent in before that there should be a way we can get the machine covered under warranty and get you a new DC in cord.... The DC in cord is covered under a 1yr warranty, with the machine. I'm going to double check and see how we can get you a new cord, but if you could call the number i provided you to let them know the issue, inquire as to whether or not they can send out a new DC in cord, and we'll see where we get. If they can't help you, i'll take it on my side here.

Re: FedEx refused to accept Lenovo shippping label and charged extra

I tried to take my Y560 to the Fedex (formerly Kinko's) shipping center today.  They scanned the form and said that it said I didn't have to pay for the actual shipping fee, but the price of the box was not included.  Like the original poster, I would have to pay $10.00 for it.

How was the situation resolved?  What options do I have open to me?  Thanks!

The situation was never resolved nor addressed in a professionally manner by Lenovo. No one called from either Fedex or Lenovo to follow up on the box cost, incorrect charged. Looks like Fedex is collecting money when they are not supposed to. It seems Lenovo does have any interests in looking into this issue for their customers. Maybe try another shipping center if you have time and you think it's worth the trouble for 10 bucks. GL.

After talking to some more Lenovo tech support folks, they said to make sure Fedex scanned or entered in the RMA code provided by Lenovo.  After the Fedex rep at my local store did, he said there was no problem and quickly packaged the laptop for me.  Ironically, the RMA code was printed on the original form.  Perhaps the employee who served me was simply ill-trained and didn't know to type it in or something.

I hope that helps any future Lenovo customers who have the same problem.

I just took my Lenovo laptop and RMA instructions to the main FEDEX shipment center.  Despite pointing out that the instructions said that packaging and transportation was included, the agent insisted that I had to buy a box for $15.

I will try again at a different office and ask them to check the instructions in their system.

Update: I went to a different office and had no problem.  They took my laptop and packaged it in their box.  Absoutely no charge.

I also just had this problem -- I took my prepaid slip to FedEx and they refused to use it to pay for the box even though it should've been included.  They said I should talk to Lenovo for a refund...

What do I have to do for that?

This is still happening in 2019, I brought my laptop in my own box using the prepaid FedEX waybill and even then they charged me $10 for a "handling fee".
