How can I ask for a replacement laptop?

2019-10-12, 10:11 AM

Hello.

My thinkpad l380 is not working properly at all.

I have sent it in to the repair center for one issue I have been having. They didn't fix it the first time, so I sent it in again. They replaced the exact same part again, plus they have now broken more things on the laptop:

  • They refreshed the OS with a worse version with various issues and slowdowns
  • My audio is popping from everywhere
  • The laptop keeps waking up even when I turn it off
  • The part they did replace is not working properly
  • The original part that needed replacing has still not been replaced.

I really don't trust the quality of the repairs at this so-called "repair center".

My warranty runs out in January!

I am a student and I don't have enough time to send this thing in for repair.

I'd like to get a replacement unit as I simply don't have enough time to wait around for the issue to maybe be fixed.

How could I ask for a replacement in the kindest possible way?

I don't want to sound demanding, but I'd like to get a replacement unit.

Thanks,

Ollie

This is a peer-to-peer forum for technical help.  Other posters (like me) are just customers like you

Hello Ollie welcome to the Community,

If you are not satisfied with the level of service you are receiving or disagree with the conclusions of a service partner you can ask for your case to be escalated by calling support for your product in your country. When you call you should have your system serial number and current service case number at hand, after receiving these and your personal contact details the representative will be in a position to escalate on your behalf.

Same problem - EMEA tried to fix problem several times and destroying more than helping in case.

Now after several months they have offered replacement, that differs and is not acceptable.

Lenovo seems to be non-professional in many levels.

Hi

I received my Lenovo Legion 5amd Ryzen in September and had issues with the screen and keyboard since day one. Finally, after two weeks the screen just stopped and didn't turn on this time. I made a request to return the laptop and it was accepted, though, they asked my to send the laptop in the original package (which I got rid of when I moved out a couple days after getting the laptop). However, I changed my mind and wanted to replace the laptop instead of just returning since I thought the laptop for a good discount and had a 3-year extended protection plan with it. Can anyone help me with that? Note: no one answers the phone when I try contact the customer service.

Any Lenovo agent can help??

Thank you!

Hello @Salaaah welcome to Community,

Sorry that the experience hasn't been that which you expected. Depending on when you first reported the defect it may or may not be possible for the system to be replaced; if reported as a DOA (Dead On Arrival) within the first couple of weeks, which can vary depending on country location, part of that process is to open a service case with the resolutions available being repair, replacement or refund. If DOA wasn't requested and no service case opened then you have a maximum of 30 days from purchase date, in the US & Canada, to return the system no questions asked however after that window has closed the system will be repaired in accordance with your warranty entitlement.
