Well, today I found an instalation of Roxy Easy Creator on my C disk (in swtools/apps/) and launched the setup. However, during the installation I got the message that windows installer was stopped by DEP (Data Execution Prevention) and when I tried to launch Roxio after installation I trhows up the message:
"The certificate file is missing or has been corrupted. Please re-install it."
I launched the setup again to repair the app, but the same thing happened again. I tried to turn off the DEP, but it seems that it is impossible to do.
Can enybody recommend some cure for this nasty situation. I would really appreciate that.
Anyway, it seems that something is wrong with the way Lenovo preloaded this app.

I cannot believe that the problem has occured to me alone. Anyway, I founf the original version of Roxio on my harddisk and tried to reinstall it. An guess what - the same story again. DEP interrupted the installation and I got the app that cannot be launched.
Can anybody tell, how this nasty application can be installed on Vista?

I didn't know what DEP was so I Googled for "dep vista" and found a number of
hits that explained it and how to turn it off and on, etc.
Then I went to Microsoft's Web site and did a system wide search for "dep" and
found tons of stuff about how to use it.
Maybe you can find the answer to your problems among all of that stuff.
Good luck ! ! !

Thank you very much for the kind suggestion! I found out how to disable DEP. It goes like that
1. Click Start
2. Click All Programs
3. Click Accessories
4. Right Click on Command Prompt
5. Left click on Run as Administrator
6. Click the Allow button if it asks you for permission
7. Type or copy and paste this into the command prompt window:
bcdedit.exe /set {current} nx AlwaysOff
8. Hit enter and you should see the confirmation: Operation Completed Successfully
9. Reboot and DEP should be off.
----------------------------------------------------
However, it seems to me that the issue is really abnormal. It is bundeld software after all.

I disabled DEP and tried to reinstall Multimedia Offerings fot Thinkpad (i.e., Roxio) package but no dice. I did it 2 times and with the same miserable results. At some point windows informed me that installer has crashed and after that I got an unusable application. As I tried to launch Roxio I got the same irritating message as before (see my first post in this thread).
This is definetly annoying. Has anybody any idea about what is wrong here?

Eudoxus,
What version number of Roxio do you have ?
Have you run TVSU recently to update your system?

Thank you for the post!
The version number of Roxio I am unable to install is 9.06.29. Unfortunately I cannot determine the number of original version of the app becase as I was unable to launch it I remeved it from my machine.
And, yes, I have all the latest updates from Lenovo except those that fail to work correctly (in my case - ThinkPad Power Manager 2.36, Thimk Vantage Access Connections Version 5.02 and the latest Finger Pringerprint Software package).
