IdeaPad S340 battery issue

2020-03-07, 17:59 PM
I bought the lenovo S340 14" laptop last month from Lenovo US online store. When I am using the laptop, battery drains very fast and noticed after 30%(sometimes at 10%) the laptop turns off(I mean battery level suddenly goes to 0%). As of now only 3 battery charge cycle completed.Unfortunately I moved to India this month so I cannot try warranty service. (I have updated all the drivers) Kindly help me to resolve this issue. Is this a battery calibration issue?

IdeaPad S340 battery issue

2020-04-14, 12:55 PM

I am facing battery drainage issue for my IdeaPad S340. Bought recently, initially battery status shows xx% then suddenly after few normal usage, it drops to low battery and gives warning on screen "Low Battery" before turning Off. Bought two months ago, updated all drivers but could not solve the issue.

Please Lenovo Support Team, help to sort out the issue.

I did two complete battery charge to discharge cycle. Even though, I have facing the same issue. It appears to be generic problem with this model. I saw lot of other customers also faced the same issue. Had it been known to me, I would not have purchased and invested my hard earned money.

Lenovo Team, whether it will cover my Warranty/Guarantee?

Re:IdeaPad S340 battery issue

2020-05-15, 14:08 PM

I've ran my s340 from 100% charge to under 10% twice just to test. On two occasions I've booted up with battery at 30%. Normally the power button will start flashing at 20%, this does not happen. Normally you'll get a low battery notification at 10%, this does not happen. I get one warning then pc shuts down. I ran a windows 10 battery report and it shows on battery 30% and in 6 minutes it shows plugged in at 1% and charging. This seems to happen only when booting the following day with 30% showing left on battery. Anyone find a solution?

I am having the same issue. Couple of months the battery was working fine. I had to send it to the Lenovo engineers to fix the issue with a motherboard. I received it back yesterday and now and that issue is solved. But the battery drains really quick. Use it for a bout 1 and half hours until it gets to like 40% and then suddenly shows a warning message saying the battery is very low and then it shuts down. Please give a reason why this happens and how we can fix this
