Hey guys, so I ordered a Y580 on the 22nd of July. The ship date got moved back but then I got an email saying it shipped this morning. The only problem is 3 minutes later I got a message that said that the order is delayed. Does anyone know what this means? I would have thought that after it had been shipped it would be on its way barring any customs problems.

 

EDIT: Never mind, it looks like the delay email just came late (how ironic) after it shipped. It looks like the laptop is indeed making its way here.

Ordered a Y580 on the 18th of July, shipped on the 2nd, and received on the 10th. I ordered a mouse with it but that's no estimated till the 20th of August. =/

So far no problems with it what so ever.

I placed and order for IdeaPad Y580 - 209948U in 09/08/2012. The advertised ship date on the website was 13/08/2012 but estimated ship date my order is 9/9/2012. I didn't make any customization on my laptop just added 3 years warranty (you can't customize ideapad laptops anyway) so there is no reason for that ship date. I contacted to sales services but they didn't really help me so I decided to try my chance here.

I hate to bring a dead topic back to life, but I'm having a similar problem.

My order for a Y570 was submitted just 2 days ago (August 11th), but it's already telling me that the estimated shipment date is November 21, 2012, which is 3 months from now? I see that it's not 6 months, but it's still a shockingly long time to wait.

Order status discrepancy

Hey, when I check my order status by logging in and going to my account, the order status is "In process"
When I check my order status with https://ovp.lenovo.com/lenovo-ovp/public/showDetail!showPublicOrderDetail4Self.action , my order status is "Released to manufacturing",
I am wondering which one is true.

On a side note, which is further ahead, "in progress" or "order received"?

i am a little confused one where my order stands right at this moment... and reading through the posts in this thread is making me feel some regret about purchasing from lenovo directly.

 

last august 10, i placed an order for one of the Y580 models priced at $1,099.

 

my previous laptop had died on me two weeks prior, and being that i spend a huge chunk of my free time on my home computer (to keep up with family and friends, do some freelance work on the side.)... i needed a replacement within a reasonable time.

 

when i placed my order, i bought it with the default configuration (no upgrades) and no additional products. so, in a sense, it is a stock model... at the time, it also said the order had an estimated ship date of august 13. which i thought seemed reasonable. i pad via amazon payments and i received emails from both amazon and lenovo confirming my order.

 

on the estimate ship date, i check my order through the website and it was still "in production" but the ship date was now the 14th, a day after their initial ship date. i checked my card and the payment went through. lost as to what is causing the delay, i called sales and he said it would DEFINITELY NOT ship on the 14th and that i should check in the next day or so to get a more accurate ship date. a little livid, but still quite reasonable, i decided to keep my cool and follow what he told me.

 

i checked again on the 16th... finally a ship date was updated to the 18th, a saturday? do they even work on saturdays?... i check back later in the afternoon, now the ship date is the 17th (eh?) ... coincidentally, on the morning of the 17th i checked my account and was SURPRISED TO SEE MY MONEY WAS RETURNED... at a loss on what was going on, i decided to call sales and find out what was going on. was my order cancelled??... after 45 mins of being in queue, i decided to hang up and i was at work and too busy to waste time waiting for someone to pickup. suffice to say, no email telling me it was shipped and why my payment was mysteriously returned. and with it being a saturday, i have no way to find out. and now, their website "check order" system is not working.

 

what pisses me off the most, is that i OPTED to buy direct from them because i (mistakenly) thought i was getting a better deal. but i never thought it would come with such aggravation and confusion. i just want my laptop. and with prices going down, i could have actually gotten a very slightly inferior laptop for a few hundred bucks cheaper from a brick and mortar store.

 

what happened? am i getting my order at all? so confused right now... :(
