My Laptop Serial No. ########, Machine Type Model: 80E502Q8IH is covered under 3 year warranty. I have bought this product on 24.02.2016 and got it registered online by providing snapshot of purchase invoice and machine serial number, so that I can get the benefits and services as promised . I had some issue with the charger so i went to service center as it was covered under warranty. But the service center has denied to provide any service as the barcode on the paper sticker of the charger got warn out in due course of time which is quite natural. If bar code is of such importance to provide any warranty it should have been a plastic coated sticker which lasts more than a paper sticker or they could have asked for a snapshot of the same while online registration of product. But they demanded Rs. 2000 for replacement of the charger which was in warranty. It is very difficult to afford these costly products for a middle class people and above that if company takes advantage of their tricky terms and conditions the customers feels cheated and gets disheartened. Please provide a resolution. Thank You
Mod's Edit: Serial number removed from public view to protect member from its unwanted use.

Welcome to Lenovo Community!
As per Lenovo warranty policy for any laptop & desktop accessories replacement like Adapter, Battery, mouse & keyboard etc. Should have barcode number mention on product to verify that part is belongs to same system. Also you can make a note for all accessories barcode number and whenever required you can provide number manually also without barcode number verification you will not get part replacement.
I hope the above information helps.

Thanks for replying Mr. Ashish, I understand your point that Barcode is required for verification for replacement. But my point is that if it is of such importance then why it is made of plain paper containing the barcode and other details. It should have been plastic quoted or made of plastic sticker so that it lasts long, like in case of Serial Number paper. If company if providing 3 year warranty then the sticker must also be durable so that whenever it is required it is easily available/readable.
On the other hand when company is requiring documents and snapshots of serial number bill and other details for providing extra warranty at the same time they could have asked a snapshot of barcode as well for documentation so that they could refer in such cases. Lastly the company can recognise its product only with the help of a paper barcode? there must be some code engraved inside the product so that the company can recognise its product along with its particulars.
When customers are extending their faith on the company they must also look upon their customers, else they will loose the market and faith of their customers and it can also effect the sustainability in the long run.
Thanks & Regards
