My Lenovo Thinkpad E530 left speaker isn't working!

Hello, I just purchased my new Lenovo Thinkpad E530 this passed Saturday. And I was testing everything out, and realized my left speaker isn't working at all. I went into the speaker settings and tried everything to get it to work, but the computer itself doesn't detect any problems. I need help, I've had enough problems with laptops and having another one with this new one is going to drive me crazy! Thanks.

Hi MabelCampo4,

 

It sounds like the speaker or its wires may be loose or damaged. I would call customer support and ask for a replacement unit. Usually if a computer has a problem out of the box, there will be more, and you don't want to have to send the laptop back and forth (or risk getting a careless technician). I also wouldn't try touching the speaker assembly, as it would likely void the warrenty.

it sounds like a simple assembly error - pinched wire. I would not assume the whole machine was bad
