After running rescue and recovery I am missing MS Office 2007 which was originally on my machine. I do not have separate MS Office 2007 install CD's because it came loaded on the machine. I do not recall getting a product code and cannot find it if it came with one. All I have is my order confirmation showing it was preloaded on my X300.
How can I get a replacement product key for MS Office 2007 with an order confirmation so I can donload it.

You can download the software here.
You should have been sent an activation code.

Yes, that is what I want to do but cannot find my activation key.
Can I get a replacement activation key if I only have my order confirmation showing I bought it?

Lenovo probably can't help you with it, you have to call Microsoft.

I wonder if only Lenovo knows what is licensed for my machine serial number and can send me a replacement product code like they do with new machines today. I don't mind paying for losing the original one but only want to pay for a "spare part" and not a new license. I am concerned I have no way to prove to Microsoft that I already paid for the license. I went to see what a new license costs and they have a $15 service to store your key on a server for when this happens.

Lenovo only have one copy of the code, don't think they track it. In most cases, the laptop would be shipped with the Microsoft MLK package with the codes in it. But maybe i am wrong on this, since i never bought any Office software from Lenovo directly.

Yes, I wonder if Lenovo uses a "soft" key on the hard drive rather than a physical one and that is why I cannot remember or find one. Perhaps I should have backed it up before I need to restore my hard drive. So since all I have now is my Lenovo order confirmation, I do not know what is possible and how to do it.

Try calling Lenovo and see what happens, but most likely they won't able to help you.
Your best bet is to call Microsoft and get them to help you out.
