Order dispatched and then almot immediately returned to sender?

2020-12-31, 16:34 PM

I ordered a Lenovo Boosttation eGPU as part of the sale / Boxing Day Sale for the advertised price of £429.99 (was actually invoiced £430 which is extremely iffy but that's another issue). Order confirmation received on the 26th December, shipping confirmation received and payment taken on the 30th December, sent via UPS from the Netherlands to my address in the UK with an expected delivery on the 4th of Jan. All good? No.

Checked the tracking today and it has been returned to sender without ever leaving the Netherlands:

Shipped    12/29/2020 12:19 A.M.    Eindhoven, Netherlands

Return to Sender    12/30/2020 9:19 P.M.    Eindhoven, Netherlands

Returned    12/31/2020 1:26 P.M.    OOSTRUM LB, NL

I've reached out to Customer Services but, after reading forum posts here and elsewhere online, I do not have any confidence that I will receive a prompt answer to my query of why was it returned to sender (the order confirmation details look correct and the charge went through on my credit card), why have I not been notified of this, and when will it be shipped out again (I want the product -- not a refund -- as I expect the product will be full price by the time a refund was processed & reordered).

I appreciate that a little disruption is to be expected at this time of year but this seems sloppy at best.

Same for a batch of laptops ordered 20th december.  Guess its Brexit in action.  Doubt we'll hear what's going on until next week.  Refunds are Lenovo's easy way out.

The thought had occurred to me too but I would have hoped that your order at least wouldn't have been affected as (I assume) they should have been delivered or already be in the UK prior to 11pm GMT 31/12/2020 when the new trade agreement kicks in. Even if it related to Brexit paperwork, Digital River & Lenovo are large enough entities that they should be on top of that you'd have thought.(..)

Lenovos shipped from Holland to UK are bouncing back at customs

2021-01-02, 10:38 AM

EDIT:  UPS  are holding deliveries Europe <->  UK until the 4th.  See pic at the bottom.

Help.  Lenovos shipped by Digital River from Holland to the UK are being bounced back at customs.  I don't know if its a UPS fault or Digital River fault.

Is there a contact for DR Holland please?

I have been given 31 0 85 208 5595 but doesn't work

Thanks.

Is your parcel being held or has actually been returned to sender? Mine was returned to sender which is infuriating as it'll need to be re-sent and will have effectively lost, I dunno, 10 days' worth of warranty? I'm also expecting some customs charges or something even though it was originally sent on the 28th/29th Dec (so should've had time to get into the UK prior to the new trade agreement at least).

See what happens on Monday.  Hopefully will re-enter the UPS system.

Don't like replying to my own posts, but anybody with Lenovo computers stuck the other side of the Channel should get in touch with Digital River (Ireland).  Here's the form to make contact.  5 hour response is not bad first day back at work.

Thanks -- I've popped them a message and await their reply. Did you get a positive response from them?

Yes. "We have submitted a ticket to our relevant team asking for re-delivery. We will keep you posted as soon as possible."

Re:Order dispatched and then almot immediately returned to sender?

Well, I finally received some correspondance from Digital River / Lenovo Customer Service who have advised that it'll take eight working days to investigate and resolve, at least for my order. Well, the UPS tracking tells most of the story so I'm not entirely sure what's gone so wrong that it would take nearly two weeks just to to figure out.

@Lenovo - Without wanting to sound flippant, it should not take three weeks+ to re-send a parcel from initial CS contact to the order being re-shipped and delivered successfully if the above timeline is accurate, especially considering the large amounts of money orders direct from Lenovo would presumebly involve (I know my order is quite costly). Given that I and others are losing weeks and more from the item warranties and such while feet are dragged, I would say that recompense wouldn't be out of the question perhaps?

Frustrating.
