Re: Order related customer service concerns

I tried to cancel my docking station order cancelled as well, but nothing happened. Plus Lenovo still did not charge my credit card (or is it a free computer?), so the administrative people are on my toes so that they can process the order, since my funds expire end of the month. Sorry, but I don't want to spend another hour on the phone with you guys.

Hi ncitrdude,

Still working on it.  I've escalated your request to my contacts in sales/customer service.

Please hang in there, it will be taken care of.

Vanessa

Called the helpline regarding my addtional battery that stays constantly at 39%. Checked first online, it is not one of the batteries that should benefit from the firmware update. I need to fax the order info to Lenovo, then someone will call me. At least they got a fax machine and did not require fingerprinting to honor my onsite warranty that I paid good money for.  Remembered my old Dell laptop. Crappy computer, broke all the time, but friendly, competent accessible service team that would come by the next day, no questions asked. Went through three AC adaptors over the three years, but they put the new adapter in the mail right away and let me send the old one back in the same package. Turnaround time two days.

Can't anybody please help me? My request is actually quite simple:

- please charge my credit card so that accounting can close this transaction. I have to submit pages of paperwork to extend this account.  The computer was delivered almost two weeks ago. If this means deleting the pending docking station from the order, that would be acceptable, a later delivery would as well be acceptable.

- please update my warranty to the 3 year onsite warranty that I bought

- please take care of that addtional battery issue.

Thanks!

hijan1,

Vanessa is working on your order issues.

Upgraded warranties can take up to 10 days to be attached to a system, however you should still be able to receive a replacement battery under the base terms of the warranty, just as you suggest without delay.

Please call 800-426-7378 concerning your battery - the agent, after doing some problem determination (assuming that has already been done based on your message about checking firmware updates) should be able to order the replacement for overnight delivery, and yes, return tags are included in the box for easy return of the old part.

Sorry that this seems to be dragging out for you.

Mark

I ordered a thinkpad w701. It took forever to get hereand then camewith a European cord so I can't use it. The only custmer service available was in India with a terrible phone connection.  When I look at my order status I see they can't ship it  till August 2nd ---I will be on vacation then and was hoping to take my new laptopwith me. I'm discusted and wonder if I should just return this machine and buy a MAC. Is customer service allways this bad ?

I thought long and hard about what computer I wanted to get but I'm sorry I didn't reaserch the customer service I would have had my Mac by now.

badcompany,

welcome to fhe forum!

if CS can't ship a replacement cord until august 2nd then something sounds amiss and needs to be investigated.   in the interim, head to a local electronics store (radio shack should do) and pick up a proper cord so you don't spoil  your vacation.   i'm sure you'd agree that returning an entire system over a $6 cord is silly. ;)

It is not that anything has happened since my last post, so I am on the phone with Lenovo again, trying to have my credit card charged and my battery replaced.....

Re: Order related customer service concerns

I'm having some warranty issues. My friend received a T510 with 5 yr onsite/adp about 2 weeks ago. He checked the warranty last week and it said it was 1 yr depot. Somehow he got this fixed.

I ordered a machine for a family member which they just received and it has the same issue. I bought a 3 year depot, and the warranty lookup says 1 year.

Is lenovo having problems with this?

@Brishen How long ago is "just received"? It takes a couple of weeks for warranty lookup to reflect the upgrade. If it's still missing after that, check back in here.
