SMART PERFORMANCE (Part of LENOVO ADVANTAGE) Hasn't Worked for 2 Months
I have an IDEAPAD 330-15AST // S/N: xxxxxxxx MTM:81D600K2US . On 2/14/22, I bought ($50 for 2 years) a 2 year subscription to SMART PERFORMANCE. For the 1st 4 - 5 weeks, it worked as advertised. For the past 2+ months, it has worked about twice out of the 45 - 50 times I've tried to use it. I was able to get a Lenovo Smart Performance customer support representative (CSR) to help me ONCE. He told me to uninstall & re-install LENOVO ADVANTAGE and try to use SMART PERFORMANCE again. This was successful. However, soon thereafter the tool failed about 95% of the time. Sometimes it just spins and spins. Rarely (maybe 2x), it will start the scan and then when it hits (approximately) 39% complete, it goes into a loop for hours and never finishes.
In the past 6 - 8 weeks, I have TRIED to engage LENOVO SUPPORT @ 1-877-453-6686 8 - 10 times. Most of the time, if / when I speak to someone, they tell me that they are going to put me on hold and explain my problem to the next level of support. FIVE TIMES, they put me on hold and then they hung up on me after I was holding for 15 - 20+ minutes. My CASE # 2006866706 doesn't seem to make any difference. I spoke to multiple CSRs and each time, they fail me. Once (on Saturday, 5/28/22), they tried to call me back ONLY TWICE about an hour apart. I was at church and not in a position to answer and then that was it. The person I originally spoke to said that the CSR would take control of my IDEAPAD to do further PD (problem diagnosis). This NEVER happened. The instructions the "2nd level support person" gave me didn't help at all. Their instructions were the same as if I had never called in the 1st place, i.e., I was starting from Square 1.
To summarize... (1.) LENOVO SUPPORT is abysmal. They either don't care and / or they can't help because no one knows anything about SMART PERFORMANCE. (2.) I have uninstalled and re-installed LENOVO VANTAGE at least 10 times over the past 6 weeks, and the symptoms don't change, i.e., the tool just spins & spins for hours. (3.) There must NOT be any 2nd level of support for SMART PERFORMANCE. (4.) I have used up 5+ hours of MY TIME to fix Lenovo's problem. (5.) At this point, I am ready to write a letter to the Lenovo US President and ask for a $50 refund.
If anyone has any ideas - other than doing an UN-install / RE-install of LENOVO VANTAGE - I am very interested in hearing different recommendations on how to solve this problem.
