Thinkpad P15 - shipping delay

Hello,

Last Friday I ordered a P15 Gen 2. Browsing the website, this one was saying "Shipped 3 - 7 days". When I ordered, the tracking details was talking about October 7th.

Then only, it got updated, and it says November 25th. I am really surprised since I specifically ordered this model because it was shipping fast.

 

Is the date of November 25th really accurate, or can I expect to have it sooner ?

Hello and welcome to Community,

 

I'm sorry that you have experienced a delay, I was able to find your order using the email registered in you Community account and could see the same date as you have. At the time of writing the same system on the Canadian site is showing a delivery time of 4+ months suggesting that you perhaps ordered just before the expectation changed. As a result of the global pandemic component shortages manufacturing and delivery delays have been an issue, they are predictions based on knowledge at that time and are fluid both backwards and forwards. If your order is time critical I would suggest calling and speaking to sales who should be able to help you find a system which meets your purposes and they are able to offer a firm delivery date for.

Hello,
Thanks for the fast answer.

I cancelled the order and ordered another one which hopefully should arrive on time. I just wanted to be sure that the previous one was cancelled: I didn't receive any e-mail yet. My card hasn't been charged. Now when I go to cancel the order again, I'm not enable to do so (I guess because the previous cancel request has been taken into account?)

 

Should I be worried ? I cancelled almost immediatly after the status updated to "released to manufacturing", it should be fine right ?

Hello,

 

Cancellations can take a couple of days to show in the system, the request needs to be manually actioned and confirmed by the factory. I don't expect that you should experience any issues if the order hadn't been released to manufacturing it will show in OVP as cancelled when cancelled.
