awful experience with levono thinkpad repair/service

2009-09-16, 18:41 PM

I bought my t500 three months ago. then the harddisk collapsed last week. i sent it to service center for repair and got it back this morning. when i start running it, i found that my wireless adaptor just gone! i am wondering which repair guys is so careless and eat my card up.  i am surprised that a professional so called computer engineer could do this kind of thing.

then i spent 4 hours to call the service. they transferred me from one to another. the result is they are gonna send me another box  so that i can send my laptop back to service center AGAIN! SO THAT they can put the wireless card back inside of the laptop. hope they can find it somewhere...

Had an SL 300 in for a change of motherboard, after talking to tech support.

The issue is also a thread on this forums (posted earlier today), wich has to do with the ethernet card 'disconnecting' itself.

Anyhow, I sendt the PC over for repair, got it back 2 days after with a note that nothing had been done to it - and they sendt me an extra wireless card (which didn't even relate to the issue in the first place). Few days later, they called me and asked for the wireless card returned..

So, the pc was gone for repair - didn't get touched, and I got a random package which I had to return..

maybe you should have overlooked the SL series. Also by the way what factory ID does your Thinkpad have???

Regular Thinkpad manufacturer are 'M'. All IBM T30 to W500 have ID 'M'. Z series have ICI03. I am just curious what factory ID is with SL series.

bshang,

Please keep us posted, and let me know if you need help - you can send me a PM with your case number, MT and Serial.   Let's give service a chance to correct this.

It seems odd that the card would be removed and left out - not impossible, just odd.  When you say it was missing, did you open your system to confirm, or just noted it wasn't listed in device manager?

Mark

factory id is located on the sticker which also has your model and serial number.
