Re: [GUIDE] A1 and A1107 Unbrick fix/full factory restore

2012-09-01, 4:43 AM

Hi Beetle,

My LePad A1-07 (2GB), Chinese version of IdeaPad, lost touch at all during manual upgrade to international ROM/ICS. Touch callibration failed, then I decided to try this method. Now my tab has ICS and touch is responsible only when it is pluged into wall or connected to USB on PC. As soon as I disconnect it from wall/USB it stops responding to touch. Touch callibration shows 'successful' in recovery but touch is not recovered. I did follow all the steps described here. Is there any solution for this?

Thanks

Those having problems with internal/external SD card after installing ICS:

Was there an error when you installed part3.zip?

Try booting of the SD card again and installing part3.zip again - note that this will erase the content of your internal SD card.

Does this help?

Puntebhunte:

Did you calibrate with the charger plugged in? If so, try calibrating without it plugged in. If this does not help, then I'd suggest that your A1 is faulty and needs to be replaced/repaired.

Re: [GUIDE] A1 and A1107 Unbrick fix/full factory restore

A couple of days ago, I upgraded my A1 via OTA to ICS. As with some people in this forum, the USB storage was not working. Then I tried a solution that was available at a site and apparently brick my tablet.

Now when I try to update with the bootable SD, the yellow bar upgrade quickly becomes a green triangle with an exclamation mark and turn off again.
When I try to turn on the tablet, it stuck on the Lenovo logo and the screen buttons light up, but no response.
Is it bricked? Can you please help me?

Thank you.

Booting into recovery mode kept launching the stock recovery routine, even with the bootable sdcard installed.  I looked at the instructions again, and realized that the menu described was for the Clockwork Recovery utility, which I found at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1418897 .

Now I had the option to select a .zip file.  But it told me Part1.zip was bad.  Any idea what the problem was? The  md5sum was correct in DiskImager, using the ICS updater for 2gb A1-07 from goo. When I look at the sdcard the image was written to, I see the three .zip files, but the recovery utility says "E:Can't open /sdcard/part1.zip (bad)".

CWM-based recovery v6.0.1.2 from XDA.

I successfully installed ICS on my A1 but now have 2 problems

1) wi-fi will not turn on, it was on when I first rebooted, but I turned it off, and now it won't turn back on.

2) when I plug in into my laptop it finds new device but doesn't recognize it, nor will it find a driver, and it won't show up under my computer.

I am using a T40 running Windows XP Pro

Ervink,

Please check other threads for thse problems, or start a new thread about them if no-one else has mentioned these problems before (I know that 2 has been discussed a lot already).

copied this from post 15:

Renamed cwm-6.0.1.2-ideapad-a1.zip to update.zip and copied to the card

Copied A1_rooter.zip to the card

Reinserted the card into the A1

Rebooted into recovery to install CWM

Rebooted into CWM and installed A1_rooter.zip

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Where do i download these 2 zip files? can somebody post a link?

do I need to run both these zip files or can i just run the A1_rooter.zip to root my A1?

USB-C: Just cos it fits don't mean it works.
I don't work for Lenovo. I'm a crazy volunteer!

Re: [GUIDE] A1 and A1107 Unbrick fix/full factory restore

hi, could you help me pls.

I am trying to restore my ideapad a1 to stock gingerbread and followed your instructions.

I went as far as installing part 1 of the zip files.

But after rebooting (after installing part 1), I go back to stock recovery and hence I do not have option to install from sd card to install part 2 and part 3.

Can you please advise how to remedy this? I am using a bootable sd card I created using win 32 disk imager.

Thanks

If you've ended up in the stock recovery, then your A1 is not booting from the SD card, and you must have used the recovery from the internal memory to flash part1. You may need to try using another SD card if the A1 won't boot from this one.
