Ix2 admin page need password after update

2016-02-17, 14:56 PM

Hi all

I've updated my lenovo ix2 firmware from 4.0x to ix2-ng-4.1.202.33573

Seems ok but now I need a user password to log into the admin/management web console ...

I can't remember having set a password at all.

I think I never set any password ...

Is there a default admin user  pass or something ?

Please help

Hello superseed77,

There is no default password, those versions of firmware require a user to set up an admin account.

You can however, reset the security settings on the NAS.

Please search this document for the term "Rear Panel" to find the proper procedure:

Re: Ix2 admin page need password after update

Hi

I've resetted the ix2 via the back button

I've to create an admin user pass

it worked.

BUT

Sometime I've a warning "authentication failed" although I'm logged

I can click OK an go on...

then I can see my folders, but they look empty (no content)

Here my fstab (old) configuration

ix2.local:/nfs /media/nfs/ nfs defaults,user,auto,noatime,intr 0 0

Any clue?

Last 2 things

but it's a very minor

one  no icons are shown on the board

Then system status hang on processing icon

superseed77,

What you are describing can usually be resolved by using a different browser (Chrome seems to work well) to manage the NAS.

Re: Ix2 admin page need password after update

Hello Lenovo Community - Thanks in advance for any help you can provide. Im strugglin. I have the blinking red light (ix2-200) on a failed drive, and have the new drive (exact replica (model/size, etc) of the two existing), delivered and ready to replace. I am LOST on the instructions for replacing the failed drive and assumed the Admin / Management Console within StoreManager would direct me towards the solution 1: which drive has failed and 2: instructions on how to replace. If this is the case, I have ALSO forgotten my admin username and password, and have been reading on the factory reset solution from the back panel. Can someone confirm this works, instructions for replacing the failed drive, and confidence level I wont loose any data throughout this process? Thanks again so much, Sincerly appreciate it!
