Loose power cable socket on Iomega Media & Backup Center

I have an Iomega EZ Media & Backup Center 2TB that has never been used, because the power adapter plug does not make good contact with the center pin.  It is out of warranty, so no use to send back.  And it was a gift; so I have no receipt.  It's just been sitting in box for years.  I tried buying a new power adapter for it; but it still doesn't make contact, unless I pull it tight to one side.  It seems like the center post is much smaller in diameter than the hole in the adapter plug.  I have another power adapter with the same specs, and when I try is, it exhibits the same thing.  Has anyone ever had this problem?  If so, are there any ideas how to fix this?

Re: Loose power cable socket on Iomega Media & Backup Center

I had the same problem with an ix4-300d. I ended up using a cable clamp with double back tape to hold it into place where it works. A "kludge", but it is working!
