Lenovo K5 Pro

Hi,

 

I received my new Lenovo K5 Pro yesterday. Brilliant phone however...

When I connect it by USB to my Windows 8 PC, the PC does not recognise it.

I have spoken already with the Lenovo Facebook page. They tell me that the K5 pro is not officially sold in my country (Ireland) and therefore they cannot help me. Can someone here please help me? I purchased the phone legitimately and it a Lenovo phone.

I understand you want to connect your phone to your PC, let me try to help you. Just to verify, are you transferring files 

 or just viewing files from your PC? Also, did you try to use other USB or try to connect it to another PC?

Hello, when you connect the phone to the pc, check your phone, there would be a notification asking you what type of connection do you want. First option is for only charge the phone, so it's like there's nothing connected, it only use energy obtain by the the usb port to charge the phone. The other option is transfer files to pc (MTP), this connect the phone to the pc as a device connected to it. In this mode you can access the phone internal memory and/or sd memory car inserted in the phone too, and transfer files from phone to pc or vice versa. I'm a owner of a lenovo k5 pro too. I like it, it's a great phone in my opinion, it's fast, have excellent performance and have a good battery. Generally i only charge it once peer week. Hope this info be useful.

Mi celular tiene deshabilitada la opción Depuración de USB
Tendrá algo malo en el conector de carga?
Se podría habilitar la depuración de USB?

O Windows 8x, tem problemas em reconhecer alguns dispositivos portáteis, tenta adicioná-lo pelo gestor de dispositivos do próprio Windows.

Hi Albert3000,

 

Let me help you with this. Can you share more details when does it usually heating? Try observing this behavior for couple of hours while the phone is in safe mode.

 

To Enable Safe Mode
1. Press and hold the Power button until Power off comes up on the screen.
2. Touch and HOLD Power off on the screen until reboot to safe mode appears.
Just turn off and on the phone to boot back to normal mode.
