Lenovo Vibe K5 Note 3GB variant fingerprint issues

I have been using this brand new phone for 10 days and recently when I try to unlock my phone using fingerprint sensors it gives a message on lock screen as "fingerprint sensor hardware not available". But I noticed that other features like capturing images by using fingerprint and using fingerprint as back button works and I also made sure that it does only when registered users have use the fingerprint sensors.

Also I cannot delete the registered fingerprint from the list of 5 and the list is also full.

So if anyone knows how to resolve the above underlined issue when the screen is locked it would be helpful.

I am also facing the same problem with Vibe K5 Note (4GB Ram) request you lenovo to please solve it at the ealiest.

Hi Guys,

 

   I had the very same issue. Out of the blue, the issue started happening. My fingerprint stopped recognizing anything. I had to use PIN everytime to unlock the phone.

 

  I finally resolved the issue by backing up all the data and then performing a factory reset! Then it started working normally. As a side effect my SecureZone was also not working before factory reset. But now that is working fine too!

 

Goto:

Settings > Backup & Reset > Factory data reset > Reset phone.

 

So, do a factory reset and once it comes back, you should be able to use the FP reader normally.

Alternatively you can also try adding the fingerprints again. Add the FPs again for same fingers with a different name. It should start recognizing. If this doesn't work then go for a factory reset.

What kind of solution involves a hard reset? What is the meaning of posting issue here if all we need to do is a hard reset which not only remove the problem but also increase hectic reinstalling work... It's such a bull **bleep**

Haha. True. Hard reset isn't the solution but a solution. A solution much better than taking it to the service center and service center guys doing the same thing.

 

I've to say after I performed the hard reset, I only faced the issue one more time. But this was resolved by adding another finger print and removing the old one. It's been more than 4 months and no issues now.

 

With the advent of smartphones daily restarts and hard resets every 6 to 8 months are normal. I have not seen people crying over reinstalling windows for better performance!
