Time is passing and yet no update...my fingers sore of mis-hitting black menu keys in the dark.
C'mon LENOVO...your ruining your users health and mental stability...give us back our menu keys

Starting to think they either don't want to or they can't fix this issue without a full update (hundreds of MB).

I'd guess they know the fix but they are waiting for the next Android update to package it in there. Just hope that the next version will be made available for this phone, otherwise .....

Either way, very poor communication from Lenovo on this issue.

There is still no way to turn on the back-light of the main buttons? If that is the case, I think they stopped updates of Vibe Shot as it is an "old phone". The backlight of the buttons is quite essential, though.

Could you download the app QuickShortcuts... to see if there is not a shortcut to turning on the backlight of the buttons? I am trying but there are many options, I might miss something. Sometimes, there is an option to turn on/off something, but they forgot to bring it to the main interface and this app can find those hidden settings.

Yes, this works and worked, but this is not about the 3 seconds option.  Thats useless. I need to see these buttons while display is on. And it is still the same for more than half a year - nothing happened so far...

Hi,

I support everyone here who's complaining about the lack of response from Lenovo regarding the function buttons issue not having been fixed AT ALL. It is amazing how they don't give to their customers after sale. Now, if that was the only issue related to the Marshmallow update, I wouldn't mind so much, but I'm also having many other issues including the screen waking up 3-5 seconds after I press the Power button, the buggy response of the on-screen display when calls are incoming, etc. etc. I am now seriously considering a downgrade (I found a solution in this forum...) and this will be my last Lenovo phone ever. You Lenovo guys.
